I) Complete Unity 5.x Install
A) From CUICA : Run UTIM and integrate 12 ports from Unity with CUCM.
B) Select NO for SSL for PCA
C) Test leaving messages for 6401, 6402, & 6043. Make sure MWI works and you are able to retrieve the messages.
II) Exchange 2007
A) Upgrade AD to be in Native Mode
1) Start / Administrative Tools / Active Directory Domain and Trusts
2) Right Click on tango.local in the right pane and select ‘Raise Domain Functional Level…’
3) Make sure the function level is ‘Windows 2000 Native’, press raise button.
4) Press OK to start the promotion
5) Press Ok to acknowledge all is completed.
6) Close Directory Domain and Trusts
B) Upgrade Exchange to Native Mode
1) Start / All Programs / Microsoft Exchange / System Manager
2) Right click Tango Organization (left pane), select properties
3) Press Change Mode button
4) Press ‘Yes’ to accept the change
5) Press OK, then close Exchange System Manager
C) .NET 2.0 Install
*Press Option to display domain*
1) run ‘C:\download\e2k7-patches\dotnetfx.exe’
2) Next, Accept license, press Install.
D) .NET Update
1) run ‘c:\download\e2k3-patches\NDP20-KB926776-X86.exe’
2) Press run, OK, Accept EULA.
3) Press OK to finish off the install
4) If asked to reboot select the option to reboot.
E) Windows Powershell 1.0
1) run ‘c:\download\e2k7patches\WindowsServer2003-KB926139-x86-ENU.exe’
2) Press Run
3) Press Next to start the Wizard
4) Press I agree, then next.
5) Press Finish to close the installer
F) Install IIS
1) Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs
2) Press Add/Remove Windows Components
3) Double Click Application Server
4) Place a check in front of Internet Information Services (IIS)
5) Press OK, then press next to start the file copy.
6) For “Service Pack 2”, press OK, browse, then My computer.
7) Navigate to ‘C:\download\Win2k3SP2\i386’, press open
8) Press OK to start the copy
9) For “Windows Server 2003” files, press Ok, then press Browse.
10) Navigate to ‘C:\download\i386’, press open.
11) Press OK to start the file copy
12) Press Finish
13) Close ‘Add or Remove Programs’
G) Install Exchange 2007
1) Run ‘C:\download\e2k7-32\setup.exe
2) Press ‘Step 4: Install Microsoft Exchange’
3) Press next on the introduction screen
4) Accept the terms of the license and press next.
5) Leave radio button at ‘No’ for Error reporting, press next.
6) Leave at typical installation, press next
7) Press Browse, Select E2k3, Press OK, then press next.
8) After the readiness check, the install button will appear. If not, fix all listed problems first before continuing. (Approximately 30 minutes)
9) Press Finish
10) Press Close on the Exchange 2007 Setup Screen
11) Press ‘yes’ to confirm the exit.
III) Unity – Working With Subscribers
A) Create Exchange 2007 Mailbox User
1) Open Exchange Management Console
2) Open Recipient Configuration
3) Click Mailbox
4) On the right side, ‘New Mailbox…’
5) Leave at User Mailbox, press next.
6) Selecting ‘Existing User’, press browse, select the user ‘user1 e2k7’, press Ok, then press next.
7) Leave the default mailbox settings, press next.
8) Review the mailbox information, press New.
9) Press Finish to close the mailbox wizard.
B) Import Exchange 2007 Mailbox into Unity
1) Start SA Web then select the subscriber link
2) Press + to add a new subscriber.
3) Select import, press select, find, select the user ‘user1 e2k7’, enter in 6404 for extension, then press add.
4) Uncheck ‘set subscriber for self-enrollment’, move the phone password page, uncheck ‘user must change password at next login’, check ‘password never expires’.
5) Press the Save (Diskette Icon – Top right).
C) Leaving a Message for E2K7 users
1) Use any extension to leave a message for 6404
2) Notice no MWI indication… try to access the 6404 mailbox
3) You should hear, ‘the mailstore is off line...’
4) Open Event Viewer and notice the CiscoUnity_UMR 135 information message. The contents of it state: “The Mail server E2k7 is currently not available…”
5) After waiting for the UMR conversation to play, you will be able to hear the message left.
D) Verify if Message was delivered
1) Start IE and navigate to ‘https://e2k7/exchange/user1e2k7’
2) Press Yes to accept the certificate
3) Enter Credentials ‘tango\user1e2k7’ password ‘XXXX’
4) Press Yes again to accept the certificate
5) Press Add for the blocked content, Select require HTTPs, press Add, then close
6) Enter Credentials again ‘tango\user1e2k7’ password ‘XXXX’
7) Press Log on Button
8) Press OK on the Language / TimeZone Page
9) Notice the Email is *NOT* in the mailbox but is accessible to the TUI using the UMR mode conversation..
E) Fix TUI issue
1) Change your logon to administrator if you have not done so !!!
2) Run Cisco Unity Permission Wizard from the Tools Depot / Administration Tools found on the desktop.
3) Leave default ‘Set Permissions’, Press Next
4) Select ‘Microsoft Exchange’, press next
5) Press OK to acknowledge to growth of 2000 Domain size
6) Leave install, directory, and Message store as the defaults
7) Press Yes to reapply permissions
8) Leave Permissions for AMIS, Bridge, and VPIM, press Next
9) Press Next for New Users and Groups, Objects Unity can create, location, containers, import, and administer AD.
10) Press the button ‘Choose Mailstores’
11) Select Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)
12) Press OK
13) Press next until the wizard completes.
14) Press Finish to close the wizard.
15) Repeat the TUI test on 6404. It should work now.
16) Log off U50 and log back in as ‘tango\UnityInstall’
F) Dealing with Migrated Users
1) Start Exchange Management Console
2) Under Recipient Configuration, Mailbox, select user ‘User Migrate’
3) Select the ‘Move Mailbox…’ action
4) Change the Server drop down to be ‘E2K7’.
5) For the rest, take all defaults by pressing next.
6) Press the ‘Move’ button to start the process.
7) Press Finish to close the move mailbox wizard
8) Test leaving/mwi/retrieving/mwi for 6403.
9) NOTE : This can take a few minutes due to syncing between AD & Unity.
G) Creating a 2007 mailbox using 2003 tools
1) Create a new user ‘User Broken’ (alias userbroken) via ADUC on the Unity Server. Make sure the Mail Server is the Tango Organization/Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF…) *NOTE this is NOT SUPPORTED*
2) Import ‘User Broken’ into Unity as 6405
3) Test leaving/mwi/retrieving/mwi for 6405 (this should work)
4) Now try OWA… XXXX
5) You will see… ‘A problem occurred while trying to use your mailbox’
6) Open Exchange Management console on E2k7, notice the difference in Recipient Type Details for ‘user broken’ and ‘User Migrate’
H) Fixing Legacy Mailboxes stored in Exchange 2007
1) Start / All Programs / Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 / Exchange
Management shell
2) Enter in:
“set-mailbox –Identity userbroken –applymandatoryproperties”
3) Press Enter
4) Verify in Exchange Manager Console 2007 the ‘user broken’ mailbox is no longer a ‘legacy mailbox’.
5) Re-perform the OWA test, all should work now.
I) Re-home Unity to point to Exchange 2007
1) Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs
2) Change/Remove ‘Cisco Unity Message Store Configuration Wizard.
3) Press Next on the welcome Screen
4) Enter the password for the installation account, press next
5) Leave the Admin account as Unityinstall, press next.
6) Select Microsoft Exchange 2007 for the mailstore, press next.
7) Press Next on the disable AD accounts that Unity creates.
8) Select Exchange Server E2k7 and First Storage Group, press next.
9) Press next on new object.
10) Follow on screen instructions to copy script (ex2k7script_u50.ps1) over to exchange2k7 to the root of the C drive (C$).
11) On E2K7, open the Exchange Shell
12) Use : ‘& c:\ex2k7script_u50.ps1’ to run the script
13) Press ‘A’ for each move… Unity_<servername>, Eadmin, & USMBS_<servername>.
14) Type ‘exit’ to get out of the powershell.
15) Return to the mailstore configuration wizard on U50, press next.
16) Press OK, to stop Unity Services.
17) Press Next, enter the Directory Service password, press Next.
18) Press Finish to close the wizard
19) If the Unity Icon in the systray of U50 has a red X, right click and start Unity.
20) Test leaving messages from an outside caller (unknown caller ID).
IV) Same Time Integration….
A) Install SameTime Server
1) Make sure Domino is NOT running, issue a QUIT on the Domino console if it is. Wait for the Console Window to close before continuing
2) Run ‘c:\sametime\demo32.exe’
3) Select ‘English’ for language
4) Press ‘Install the Sametime Server’
5) On the InstallShield popup, leave English in the drop down, then press OK.
6) On the welcome screen, press Next
7) Accept the License, press next
8) Leave ‘use this Sametime server’ for the slide conversion, press next.
9) Leave at ‘Domino Directory’, press next.
10) Leave unchecked ‘Enable HTTP Tunneling’, press next.
11) Press Install.
12) Once the software install completes, Press Finish.
13) Start the domino server by double clicking the ‘Lotus Domino Server’ icon on the desktop.
C) Install SameTime Client
1) Run ‘c:\sametime\client\demo32.exe’
2) Select ‘English’ then ‘Install SameTime Connect Client’.
*** This might take time to complete ***
3) After 2 minutes, if the popup doesn’t appear, use CTRL-ESC to pull up the taskbar and see if there is a ‘choose setup language’ window that is just hidden. If so, select that window to continue. Otherwise continue to wait until you can choose the language.
4) Select ‘English (United States) and press OK.
5) Press Next on the Welcome screen.
6) Press ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’, press next.
7) Leave default path ‘c:\program files\IBM\Sametime Connect”,
press next.
8) Press install.
9) Do NOT lauch the Sametime client so uncheck this option and then press finish.
D) Creating Sametime User in Domino
1) Launch Domino Admin 7 client from the desktop.
Remember password is ‘XXXX’
2) Select the people & groups tab, under tool, open the people twistie, then press register.
3) Press the certifier ID… button, navigate to c:\program files\lotus\domino\data\cert.id, press OK
4) Select ‘Do not show this warning…’, press OK.
5) Enter the certifier password : XXXX
6) Press OK to actknowledge the ‘Certifier Recovery Warning’
7) Enter In the following:
First Name: User
Last Name: 6401
Password: XXXX
8) Press ‘Password Options’ Button
9) Select ‘Set internet password’, move the password quality scale slider to Weak (Password is optional 0), then press OK.
10) Press Green Checkmark to put user in queue
11) Press the Register All button
12) Press ok after the person is registered successfully.
13) Press Done on registration screen
14) Close Domino Administrator
E) Creating the Plugin Server Web Page
1) ***NEED WINZIP INSTALLED***
2) Create the following directory
C:\program files\lotus\domino\data\domino\html\cisco
3) Double click the .gz file and it should launch Winzip. Select ‘Use Evaluation Version’, Select ‘Yes’ for the temporary folder, press Extract, Navigate to the Cisco directory in step 1, press Extract button. Press the continue button as many times as it takes.
4) Close Winzip
F) Install Plugin Hot fix
1) Copy C:\sameclient\client\hotfix\imbldapprov.jar
To C:\program files\ibm\sametime connect\jre\lib\jclmax\opt-ext.
G) Configure Exchange IMAP
1) Run services.msc
2) Find ‘Microsoft Exchange IMAP4’ and double click the service
3) Set startup type to ‘automatic’, then press apply
4) Press Start, then OK to close the window.
5) Close the services window
H) Installing the Plugin
1) Launch the Sametime connect client from the desktop icon.
2) Login using:
Host Server: d70.tango.local
User Name: User 6401
Password: XXXX
3) Press ‘Log In’ button – If it fails with an error that the server is not available, press cancel, close the Sametime window, close the systray icon, and relauch.
If you still continue to have problems, on the domino console issue a ‘show tasks’ and make sure the SameTime Server is running. If it is in any other state, just wait a few minutes and repeat #3.
4) Press ‘No’ to enable chat history
5) In the Sametime Menu, select tools -> plug-ins -> install plugins
6) Select ‘search for new features to install’ then press next.
7) Press ‘new remote site’
8) Enter in the following:
Name: Cisco Unity
URL : XXXX
9) Press OK in the ‘New Update Site’ window.
10) Press Finish
11) Wait for the Updates windows to open automatically.
12) Place a check in front of the ‘Cisco Unity’ plugin and then press next.
13) Press Next, accept the license, press next again.
14) Press ‘Finish’
15) Press ‘Install All’
16) Press ‘Yes’ to restart.
17) After the restart, log into Sametime, and issue a ‘file / preferences’
18) Select ‘Cisco Unity Voicemail’ and enter in:
User: user1e2k3 (AD Exchange User ID)
Password: XXXX
Server: E2k3.tango.local
19) * LDAP information*
20) Place a check in the ‘enable detailed logging’
21) Press OK
I) Using Sametime
1) Click on the bar at the bottom of the SameTime Client that says ‘Cisco Unity Voicemail’. That should expand open and show any voicemails waiting for that user.
2) If there is no message in the mailbox try leaving one for 6401.
3) Once the message shows up, review the log files to see a working trace. ‘C:\documents and Settings\Administrator\IBM\RCP\Sametime\sametime.log.0’
4) Do a search for ‘VoiceMailBox.messagesAdded’, this will take you to the beginning of the process of pulling down the email from the mailserver.
J) * LDAP NEEDS TO BE RESEARCHED *
V) Message Monitor
A) Configuring CallManager
1) Start CUCM Administrator
2) Select System / Enterprise Parameters, look under the section for ‘Phone URL Parameters’, if it is http://<servername>... Make sure DNS can resolve that server name, otherwise replace all <servername> references with an IP Address. Otherwise this will fail when using Message Monitor
3) Select Application / Cisco CallManager Serviceability
4) Select Tools / Service Activation
5) Press the link for the callmanager server on the left
6) Verify that the Cisco CTIManager is activated.
7) Select Application / Cisco Callmanager Administration
8) Select User / Add a New User
9) Enter the following information:
First Name : Unity
Last Name : Monitor
User ID : umonitor
User Password: XXXX
PIN: 123456
Check: Enable CTI Application Use
Check: Enable CTI Super Provider
10) Press Insert to add the user.
11) Select the ‘Device Association’ link on the left side of window
12) Find and add in your IP phones that you want Message Monitor to work with. Press Update when done.
*Note IP Communicator does not work*
B) Configuring Unity
1) Start UTIM
2) Expand your CUCM cluster, select ‘Properties’
3) Press the ‘Phone View’ tab
4) Verify ‘Phone System Version’ is ‘Callmanager 4.x’
5) Enter in the following:
CCM ACCESS
- User name : administrator
- Password : XXXX
CTI Phone Access
- User name : umonitor
- Password : XXXX
Enable Message Monitor Enabled
6) Press ‘Verify users…’
7) If all is successful, you should see a list of DN’s that you assigned to the Unity Monitor account in CCM. If not, go back to CCM and verify the device associations.
8) Press OK to close the ‘Verify Phone View Settings’
9) Press Save to commit the UTIM changes.
10) Press Yes to restart Unity Services
11) Close UTIM
C) Monitoring Calls (IP Phones)
1) From one phone, call into Unity
2) During the Open Greeting (or press * # if unity asked to enter your password), enter in the extension of a phone DN that is monitored
3) If all goes well, the softkey template on the IP phone should change to Monitor, Ask, Take, and More.
4) Press the monitor button. You should now start hearing Unity and the Caller leave their message.
5) Repeat the above steps using the Ask and Take Keys. Notice the difference in what Unity says, what the callers hears, and how the call is transferred.
VI) Visual Message Locator
A) Configure Unity to use Message Locator
1) Launch UTIM
2) As before, navigate to the phone view tab under the CCM integration.
3) Place a check for ‘Visual Message Locator Enabled’.
4) Press ‘Save’.
5) Press ‘Yes’ to restart Unity.
B) Configure Subscriber for Message Locator
1) Open SAWeb
2) Find the subscriber you want to enable by doing a subscriber search.
3) Press the ‘Features’ link.
4) Place a check for ‘Subscribers can use Message Locator’ & Subscriber can use ‘Phone View Message Locator’
5) Press ‘Save’
C) Subscriber Use
1) Leave a few voicemails for the mailbox that you enable Message locator on. Make sure to use outside and internal calling parties.
2) Call into Unity from the DN that you enabled for Message Locator
3) After entering your password and listening to the Unity prompts, press ‘5’ to enter Message Locator.
4) Press ‘5’ (to list all messages)
5) Use arrow key to find a message to play back
6) Press the softkey ‘select’ to make your choice
VII) Voice Recognition
A) Software Install
1) Run the installer, ‘c:\download\unityvoicerecognitionsetup\setup.exe’
***Normally found off the root of CD 1***
2) On the Welcome screen, press next
3) Press ‘Install’
4) Press Finish
B) Configuration on Unity
1) Open SAWeb and navigate to ‘System -> Voice Recognition -> Settings’
2) Enter in the D70 IP address, ’14.48.43.180’
3) Press the save diskette
4) Press OK to acknowledge the grammar server change.
5) Press the ‘start manual update’ button.
6) Open up subscriber user1 e2k3 (X6401).
7) Click on the ‘Conversation’ page.
8) Enable ‘Allow Access to Voice-Recognition Features’ & ‘Use Press-or-Say Phone Input Style ‘Includes Voice Addressing’
