ASCII

American Standard Code for Information Interchange.A code in which each alphanumeric character is represented as a number from 0 to 127, translated into a 7-bit binary code for the computer.ASCII is used by most microcomputers and printers, and because of this, text-only file can be transferred easily between different kinds of computer.ASCII code also includes character to indicate backspace, carriage return, etc., but does not include accents and special letters not used in English.

High ASCII

ASCII defines code numbers for 128 character, which are the alphabetic and numeric character on a keyboard and some additional character such a punctuation mark.High ASCII includes additional ASCII characters up to 256, which may include foreign language accents, math symbols, trademark and copyright symbols, etc.These character are not the same on all computer.
