After Krakow the IPMA Project Management world turns its attention to Rome as its next ambitious target, to a highly visible event that is of great importance for Project Management.
The organizing committee, under the direction of the Chairman Luigi Iperti, the President of the Italian PM Academy Roberto Mori and the Project Manager Vittorio Cariati with the active contribution of the members of the International Advisory Board and those of the National Advisory Board, is already engaged in the various organisational phases, while the growing interest in the Convention is shown by the increasing number of visits to the site at www.ipmaroma2008.it.
The second announcement has been published with the detailed presentation of the streams. There are a number of them and they invite the development of papers that can truly represent milestones of what PM is in the world today. A scientific debate is going on around these themes as to how the basic theme of the Congress will be developed and the search is under way for keynote speakers capable of making a powerful contribution to demonstrating how essential PM is for the management of large projects and also for the large programmes of those companies that are today at the forefront of the globalised world.
The Rome Congress has the ambition of offering a stage for academics and for the papers writers on the results of high level scientific research and also to anyone intending to present examples of detailed and concrete applications of PM in major industrial and infrastructural projects of which the management of time and innovative concepts are significant elements.
The event has captured the interest of numerous sponsors who already exceed twenty in number and who intend to contribute to a better awareness and application of PM in the development of large projects.
Great attention has been given to publicizing the event. Ing.Iperti has presented the Rome Congress to IPMA international conventions in Delhi, Shanghai, Russia and Istanbul, as well as in Krakow. The principal sponsors also, have undertaken to spread the news of the event among their clients all around the world. Articles by Ing. Iperti have been published in Russia, in Turkey and recently in various magazines in Italy.
During the convention itself, projects carried out with efficient project management will be recognised, through the granting of the IPMA PROJECT EXCELLENCE AWARD. The leading Italian and European engineering companies will enter the lists this time to try to wrest this coveted trophy from competing companies from other countries.
Remember that in Shanghai the award was given to the Chinese AeroSpace Corporation, in New Delhi to an Indian project and in Krakow to yet another Chinese project.
We are sure that the award ceremony will be a highlight of the Rome 2008 Congress.
It will probably take place in the Parco della Musica Auditorium designed by Renzo Piano and will be followed by a show inspired by the world of Italian music and fashion.
But Rome has so much else to offer with its monuments and its works of art. So, "See you in Rome".
