January 2006

Dear Colleague,

Reference: Exposure Draft - PMI Code of Ethics & Professionalism

Founded in 1969, the Project Management Institute is a vital and forward thinking organization focused on the needs of project management practitioners worldwide. Our membership, which includes over 200,000 professionals in 125 countries around the globe, represents virtually every major industry, including: aerospace, automotive, business management, construction, engineering, financial services, information technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and telecommunications.

As stewards of our organizations?precious resources and ambassadors for the project management profession, we proudly hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. For the past three years PMI?volunteers have been working on a revised code of professionalism, a code that reflects the needs of a globally diverse membership, and a code that reflects best practice in the field of ethics, addressing the realities of today抯 business environment. The revised code is now ready for PMI抯 exposure draft process.

In accordance with the PMI Standards Setting Policy and Procedures, and the processes set forth by the American National Standards Institute, the PMI Code of Ethics and Professionalism is available at this website for your review and comment. Your thorough review of the entire document and your submission of any recommended additions, deletions, or changes, are encouraged. Please submit your recommendations by following the procedures and using the forms available on this website. The personal information and email address you enter on this site will only be used by PMI and the project team to track your participation in the exposure draft process and to correspond with you about any recommendation you choose to make.
