Position Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Position Grade: L9/L8 based upon education, experience

Position Specification:
Otis Engineering Center – Shanghai is one of several Global Engineering Centers around the world. The position requires a dynamic and experienced technical leader in the development of mechanical components for elevators. He/She will lead Worldwide and/or Local projects.
Basic Accountabilities:
As a project leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Leading design and testing of mechanical components according to Otis product development standards
• Creating the project plan and committing this plan with the customers
• Researching, designing and evaluating mechanical elevator products to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles
• Managing a team of mechanical/material engineers on project basis
• Checking/validating assembly and detail drawings of mechanical components
• Preparing documentation for sales, manufacture, purchasing, quality, field
• Improving product quality and cost reduction
• Providing support to the manager on a regular basis.
• Communicating on regular basis with customers and other OTIS engineering centers
Principle Working Relations:
Engineering and Supply Management teams, Worldwide Otis Engineering partners, Field, Suppliers
Qualification Requirement:
Deep technical knowledge and proven expertise in the development of mechanical components. Knowledge of elevator mechanical components and/or mechatronics is desired. Experience with development tools such as CAD, especially Pro-Engineer preferred.
Experience with project management is required including risk and requirements management. Familiarity with program management tools such as MS Project and previous experience managing and leading people are a plus. Familiarity with product development process is desired.
• Education: M.S. or above in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: minimum of 4 years
• Language: Good in spoken and written English – CET-6 preferred
• Computer Skills: Project Management tools, Microsoft Office Tools
• Other Key Competencies:
o Creative and open minded, hard-working and energetic, good teamwork, and ethics
o Good interpersonal and communication.
